ESG VISA Participates in Launch of HKGBC Climate Change Framework for Built Environment (3rd Edition)

The representative of ESG VISA Limited proudly attended the launching ceremony of the Hong Kong Green Building Council’s (HKGBC) Climate Change Framework for Built Environment – 3rd Edition.

This milestone event highlights Hong Kong’s accelerating commitment to sustainability, climate adaptation, and the built environment’s transformation. It is especially encouraging to see Green Finance and Biodiversity elevated as major strategic priorities—two areas essential for addressing the global climate crisis.

A strong signal of momentum comes from the presence and active involvement of several government bodies, including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Environment and Ecology Bureau (EEB). Their participation demonstrates not only policy support but also the recognition that climate resilience, financial sustainability, and environmental protection must move forward together.

At the ceremony, leading figures and representatives from public and private sectors stood together on stage—symbolising a shared commitment toward achieving a greener, safer and more climate-resilient future for Hong Kong.

One of the most urgent messages presented at the event was the alarming link between the built environment and global biodiversity loss. Urban expansion, land transformation, and unsustainable resource consumption are major drivers of habitat destruction—contributing to what scientists identify as Earth’s Sixth Mass Extinction Event.

As HKGBC strengthens the framework for climate action, ESG VISA aims to contribute as a catalyst—empowering industry partners to meet evolving environmental expectations and drive Hong Kong,s transition toward a decarbonised and nature-positive future.
